Thornebrook Village shopping center was built in 1983 as one of the first retail condominiums in Florida. The idea of owning your own building added a feeling of permanence to the development. Many of the owners have operated their businesses together for over twenty years.
The concept of "Shopping in a Park" was another unique facet of the plan of the shopping center. Thornebrook Village was built along the lines of a tropical resort, with open-air covered breezeways connecting individual buildings amid lush areas of grass, flowers and shrubbery around a central plaza. This is a relaxing and congenial environment, far different from the average shopping center.
Thornebrook Village has an Owners Association, which is overseen by a board of directors. David Arrighi is currently the president of the board of directors. Property management for the Village is provided by Asset Management, Inc.
